Your Questions Answered
Choosing the right home care provider can be a challenge and we know you probably have many questions about services, caregivers, and more. The following are some frequently asked questions and their answers.
Q: In what areas are your services available?
A: We provide private pay, non-medical home care services in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, and Bucks Counties.
Q: Who needs in-home care?
A: Anyone who needs some extra help to remain at home safely can benefit from in-home care. We serve older adults who need assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, ambulation, meal preparation, etc.
Q: Are your services covered by Medicare?
A: Medicare covers only medical home health care services for individuals who meet specific requirements. Because we are a non-medical home care provider, our services are not generally covered by Medicare.
Q: What are my payment options for home care services?
A: Home care services can be covered by private funds, certain long-term care insurance policies, family assets, and even reverse mortgages. Many seniors may also qualify for Veteran’s Aid and Assistance benefits that can help cover the costs of home care. Contact Master Care directly for more information and to discuss your specific needs and questions about financial resources.
Q: Are your caregivers insured and bonded?
A: Yes. All our caregivers are full-time employees of Master Care, and are completely insured and bonded by us, meaning you’ll never be responsible for any worker’s compensation or liability insurance for your caregiver.
Q: How are your caregivers screened?
A: Each of our caregivers must pass thorough background checks, including criminal history and driving records. We also hand select each caregiver based on extensive interviews to ensure each person has the skill and personality we’re looking for in a Master Care caregiver.
Q: What makes Master Care different from other in-home care companies?
A: Master Care offers a concierge-style home care service that meets our clients’ unique and specific care needs. For example, if you have a loved one who needs someone to walk and care for a pet, schedule appointments, prepare meals, etc. we can meet those needs. Additionally, we take great care of our employees to ensure they take great care of you. Most agencies only employ part-time caregivers and often have a difficult time maintaining a full staff. At Master Care, we hire our caregivers as full-time employees and offer them generous benefits to ensure that our clients are cared for by happy, well cared-for caregivers.
Q. How quickly can I arrange for service?
A: We can usually arrange for service for you or your loved one within 24 – 48 hours.
Q: Is there a minimum number of hours required?
A: Our visits are scheduled in morning, afternoon and evening blocks of 3 hours.
